Most of what is new to eat in Darien this year sits along a short stretch of Heights Road in Noroton Heights. A Greek taverna opened in a former Seamore's space. A milkshake shop opened in spring. A Romanacci is scheduled to open there this fall. A Saturday artisan market comes to the sidewalk outside sweetgreen twice before Thanksgiving.
Downtown, the Corbin District's second phase was billed for fall 2026, with Tatte, Chopt, Millie's, Hinoki and Corsica on the dining list. As of October 4, none of those restaurants has a confirmed opening date in local reporting or on the businesses' own pages. Most of the year's new seats are on Heights Road.
The Heights Road addresses that changed this year
All four addresses below are in Darien Commons or Heights Crossing. Two are open, one is a market date on the calendar, and Romanacci has a season but no opening day yet.
| Address | Business | Status as of October 4, 2026 | On record |
|---|---|---|---|
| 110 Heights Road | Lykos Taverna | Open | Former Seamore's space, about 3,400 square feet |
| 410 Heights Road | MilkShake Factory | Open since mid-April | Grand-opening event held May 9 |
| 346 Heights Road | Romanacci | Scheduled for fall 2026 | Sixth location for the Ricci brothers |
| 102 Heights Road | Pop Shop Market | Upcoming on October 17 and November 21 | Free artisan market outside sweetgreen |
MilkShake Factory soft-opened in mid-April, and Patch reported it open on May 4. Patch places it at 410 Heights Road. The Connecticut Scoop lists it as a Heights Crossing tenant, along with Chipotle, Pvolve and Garden Catering. That puts a dessert stop, a fast-casual chain, a fitness studio and a caterer in the same center. The Romanacci opening adds a full Italian menu to that mix.
Lykos took the biggest room on the strip
Euripedes Pelekanos, a co-founder of Bareburger, opened Lykos Taverna as his own independent concept in the 3,400-square-foot space Seamore's used to occupy at 110 Heights Road. In January he told Patch he planned a contemporary, family-friendly Greek and Mediterranean taverna. He described a fish-forward menu with mezze, skewers, Greek salads and dips, and a wine list weighted toward Greek bottles.
At the time, the restaurant was aiming for a soft opening in mid-February. Darien Commons now lists it as open. The restaurant's site takes reservations and posts lunch, brunch, dinner and drinks menus. The dishes it features up front are tzatziki, swordfish and lamb ribs. A taverna serving four menus, brunch included, gives the Commons a full-service room open from midday into the evening.
Pelekanos's first brand is also on the Commons directory, which lists Bareburger alongside Cosmo's Bagels, Gregorys, Molto and NAYA. The Commons describes that directory as a mix of open and coming-soon tenants. Before making a special trip, check the restaurant's own hours.
Romanacci is next, and the Riccis closed a Westport shop the same week
Graziano and Maurizio Ricci run the Romanacci restaurants in Fairfield County. Their Darien location at Heights Crossing, 346 Heights Road, will be their sixth. The Connecticut Scoop reported in March that the space is 2,570 square feet. The planned menu covers coffee, panini, pizza, Italian dishes, Roman street food and pastries. With coffee and pastries on the menu, the Darien location is planned to serve mornings as well as dinner.
On September 30, Patch reported that the brothers closed Old Mill Grocery & Deli on Hillspoint Road in Westport that week, after three years, as they prepare for Darien. Their Westport restaurant on Railroad Place remains open. The same report said the Darien restaurant is scheduled to open "this fall." In March, the target had been "early fall." As of October 4, no opening day has been announced.
Downtown's lineup has dates in the brochures but not yet on the doors
The Corbin District's Phase 2 roster is long. Moffly's March feature listed Chopt, Millie's, Hinoki, Corsica and Tatte under the heading "FALL 2026 COMING TO CORBIN DISTRICT." The retail list included Tuckernuck, Framebridge, Free People Movement, French Presse, rhone, OGGI 5 and Saujette. It also named several shops with local founders: Asha from Ashley Dodgen-McCormick, Ma copine from Elizabeth Crosby, and La Source from Jessica Johnson.
The developer's construction log has given the schedule in its own words. The April 15 update blamed a cold, snowy winter for lost time and said many stores and restaurants were still on track for fall 2026. The latest entry on the page is dated June 1. It described sidewalk pours along the Boston Post Road, prep work for a new traffic signal at Corbin Drive, and data lines being buried in front of the stores. It closed with this:
Many of the stores and restaurants and office businesses that will open in The Corbin District will be starting their work this month, with one, Tatte, having started a couple of weeks ago. We will share more details on store and restaurant openings as soon as we have more precise dates.
Tatte's own new-locations page still lists Darien at 1060 Boston Post Road, Building B, as "Opening 2026," with no month. On September 11, MiniLuxe announced that its strategic growth partner Vera Vos-Lexmond had signed a lease for the brand's first Connecticut studio in the district, with an opening target of early 2027. New leases are still being signed, and at least one tenant has already set its opening for next year. The fall dining list has no confirmed dates yet, and the June update does not say whether the Corbin Drive signal or the new Post Road parking is finished.
The Post Road filled two storefronts on its own
The two Post Road additions that did open this year have no connection to the Corbin District. Duchess served its last day at 306 Post Road on February 1. Wonder, the food hall delivery chain, held its grand opening in that space on July 16. It is the brand's eighth Connecticut storefront. Customers can order from more than 20 restaurant menus in a single order, with dishes tied to chefs such as Bobby Flay, Marcus Samuelsson and Michael Symon and to names like DiFara Pizza, Magnolia Bakery and Tejas BBQ. Orders are for dine-in, pickup or delivery, mostly placed online or at in-store kiosks.
Farther along the road, DoChéri Chocolate soft-opened in May at 878 Boston Post Road. CT Bites identifies the founder as Maryna Steadman. A European chocolate shop and a multi-brand kitchen give the Post Road a gift stop and a weeknight takeout option. Neither had to wait for the downtown district to finish.
Dates for the next seven weeks
Darien Commons has posted a fall program. It listed a Pumpkin Parking Lot Party at 126 Heights Road for Saturday, October 3, with pumpkin painting, a petting farm and food samples. The next Commons events on the calendar are the Pop Shop Market dates, run with the Darien Chamber of Commerce:
- Saturday, October 17, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Pop Shop Market outside sweetgreen, 102 Heights Road. Free, with independent makers selling apparel, handmade jewelry, home décor, self-care products and gifts.
- Saturday, November 21, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Second Pop Shop Market at the same spot, timed for holiday shopping.
- This fall, date to be announced: Romanacci at Heights Crossing, 346 Heights Road.
- 2026, month to be announced: Tatte at 1060 Boston Post Road, Building B, in the Corbin District.
- Early 2027: MiniLuxe in the Corbin District.
The Chamber's market page suggests following a market visit with lunch, dinner or something sweet at one of the Commons restaurants. On October 17, that means Lykos is a short walk from the market tables at 102 Heights Road.
